In April it felt as if the house was really taking shape. Also we were in the thick of kitchen shopping. The fireplace saga took up much of the month but as you can see from the photos below it came together in the end. The best thing for me that happened however during that month was the simplest…….the removal of the scaffolding. It had always been a worry of mine that the kitchen would be dark as the previous one had been and to my mind would have really have defeated the purpose of moving it out into the extension. I needn’t have worried however as as soon as the scaffolding come down the light could finally come through and the space felt much more airly and light. It is still a north-facing room so it is never going to be amazingly bright but it is so much better than previously.
It’s amazing the immediate difference the new roof made to the house. What do you think?
